When starting a free online business, you need to know how to get traffic to your site. This is the last article in this series. In part one, I discussed how to set up a free website and what is the cheapest and easiest online business to start. In part two, I talked about how you can get free traffic to your sites by writing and submitting articles. In this part I will show you one more free method to getting traffic to your site.
Commenting On Blogs And Forums:
A great way to get free targeted traffic to your sites, is to comment on blogs and forums in your niche or topic. You want to look for active forums in your niche. To find these forums, type whatever your niche or topic is and the word forum in the search engine. Look around to see which ones might be a good fit for you.
You don't want to post too soon. Register for the forum and look around for a bit. See what the people are like and what they are talking about. Then you can introduce yourself. Don't bombard the forum with posts. You want to build a good reputation.
Make good posts, answer questions, welcome others, ask thoughtful questions, share your opinion, comment on other people's answers,etc. Always remember, this is not about you. It's about them. You are there to make friends and provide good information. Be genuine. Once you are trusted, you can add a signature link after your post.
If you want to find blogs in your niche to comment on, go to www.blogsearch.google.com. When you comment on blogs, put good information on there. People will be more likely to click on your link if your comment helps them out or sounds intelligent. You don't just want to put, "Great post, thanks for sharing." Add value to the information. If you have a question about it, then ask it. Again I'll say, be genuine. You are there to help others, not promote yourself. When you keep this in mind, people will find you.
You want to stand out from the crowd. There are so many scams out there now and people have a hard time trusting. So, if you are genuine and you add helpful and intelligent information, people will like what they read and want to find out more about you.
Starting a free online business is possible. It's more that just setting up a website and finding a product to sell. You have to put time into this type of business in order for it to grow. You can schedule certain days to write articles and certain days to post on blogs and forums. Don't think you have to do all of it everyday, especially if you have very little time to work on it. Do one step at a time and one day you'll look back and be amazed at how your business has grown. Just be sure to do something everyday.
